What is an Agent or Attorney Service?
A person who resides in the area and is designated as the recipient of official mail and service of process on behalf of a Canadian or foreign corporation is known as an agent or attorney for service.
An existing corporation may be dissolved and a new registration may be rejected for lack of appointing a local attorney or agent.
For corporations in the province or provinces of incorporation or extra provincial registration, a registered agent serves as the registered address. The registered agent serves as a local point of contact for government agencies and offers a registered location for the receipt of government filings.
